Hansi of Hansi’s Hallucinations is the man!
Today marks the first degree awarded by Cantankerous Old Coots University. Congratulations to Hansi, the master hallucinator over at Hansi’s Hallucinations. It is no mean feat to meet the requirement for this degree but he has proved worthy by actually reading five of the Coots News Service news summaries and leaving a comment.
For taking time from his busy schedule, Hansi has earned the respect of the faculty and staff at COCU and we are proud to welcome him as the first Associate Coot. If you would like to emulate the illustrious Hansi and receive your own degree, just read and follow the instructions. Just like Doritos, we can make more.
Wow…I’m shocked…what an honor. I’d first like to thank god and jesus for Not reading my blog, and, for not striking me blind for reading (let alone commenting on) The Cantankerous Old Coots blog.
You know, I always wanted to be a Old Coot, but didn’t want to put in the effort that Ralph, Bob and Justin do. And the thought of ever having to go back to school, has way too much. Hey everything I need to know I’ve forgotten already. But Coot-hood just crept up on me, and now appears to be in full bloom.

As you know, the old part is easy and happens soon enough without the least bit of effort on your part. Coot is more or a challenge but again comes with the territory. Cantankerousity is the trick. Most people blow it by thinking that sheer nastiness will work. It will not because Coots are humanitarians at heart and wish no evil to anyone no matter how annoying. It has been a pleasure to see your Cantankerosity growing over these months while the rough edges of mean spiritedness get knocked off. Keep up the good work.
